Boca Sami is one of my absolute favorite spots on the island. It is one of the few places where you can still see the real Curaçao. So if you want photos that truly capture the local feel of the island, this is the perfect location for your photoshoot in Curaçao.

There are lots of great options here. You will find the bright blue sea with typical fishing boats, a beautiful staircase that works really well in photos, and a small beach area. This part of the beach is a bit narrow, so it is not ideal for large groups, but just a little further there is a wide open space that is perfect for family or group shoots. On one side there is calm water and nature, and on the other side the Caribbean Sea. There is also a small bridge in the water and a pier that adds a fun extra touch to the shoot.

If you want to stand on the bridge, you will have to walk through the water a little, so your feet might get wet.

This location is also perfect for drone photos. The views from above are truly stunning and give your shoot something extra special. Whether it’s the bridge, the pier, or the boats in the water, drone photos here always stand out. Blue Bay Resort, located in the central part of the island, is also home to one of my favorite hidden spots for a photoshoot in Curaçao. While the main Blue Bay beach is beautiful, it’s often crowded and full of sunbeds, so we don’t shoot there. Instead, we walk a little further to a quiet beach area with beautiful rock formations that make a stunning and natural backdrop for your photos.

This spot is usually completely empty, and it’s tucked away from the busy part of the resort, which means you’ll have plenty of privacy during your shoot. If you don’t feel comfortable with lots of people watching, this is a perfect location for you. It works great for both couple sessions and family shoots.

Even though the main beach is too crowded for a shoot, it’s still a lovely place to relax after. You can easily spend the rest of your day there.

Since this location is on resort property, there is a security checkpoint at the entrance. Just bring your driver’s license for ID and tell them you’re going to the beach. You’ll be allowed in without any problem.

Kokomo is located just outside of Willemstad, and on the way there you’ll pass the flamingos — a fun little stop after your shoot if you feel like snapping a quick photo or just watching them for a moment.

The beach itself is small and usually full of sunbeds, which makes it less ideal for a full shoot. But I still include Kokomo as a location option because of one standout feature — the beautiful pier. It looks like a tropical postcard, surrounded by bright blue water, and creates a dreamy backdrop for your photos. Just scroll down to see some examples.

This location works best for solo shoots, couples, or small families (up to 5 people), since space is limited. And because it gets busy later in the day, I only offer shoots here in the morning when it’s still quiet.

Also good to know — Kokomo is home to the famous swing in the water. If you want a fun photo on the swing, make sure to bring your swimwear. It’s a great way to end the shoot and get a few playful shots in the water too. A perfect mix of relaxed and tropical vibes for your photoshoot in Curaçao.
