Directors Bay is located on the far east side of Curaçao, close to Jan Thiel. It is one of the only beautiful bays you can reach on that side of the island. The water here is incredibly clear and blue, and instead of sand, the beach is made up of small pebbles, which gives it a unique look.

Daaibooi is a lovely beach located on the west side of the island, but still not too far from Willemstad. Out of all the beautiful beaches on that side of Curaçao, this one is the closest to the city. It has soft white sand, clear blue water, and beautiful rock formations on the sides. It’s a peaceful spot and not overly touristy, which makes it great for a relaxed photoshoot.

Even though the beach is getting a bit more popular and you’ll see more sunbeds than before, there is still enough space for a shoot early in the morning or later in the afternoon when it’s quieter. The soft light during those times is also perfect for natural and warm photos.

One of the fun things about this location is that you can climb onto the rocks for some extra special shots. It adds a bit of adventure and gives you a beautiful view over the water.

Karakter is located at the Coral Estate resort, on the west side of Curaçao. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place, and I often do photoshoots here, especially down by the beach near Karakter. While the right side of the beach is usually busy and full of sunbeds, the left side is much quieter. There’s a small pebbled beach that is often empty or has just a few people around, making it a great spot for a relaxed and private photoshoot.

The water here is crystal clear and bright blue, which creates the perfect backdrop for your photos. Since this side of the beach doesn’t have any sunbeds, there’s enough space to move around and create beautiful, natural photos. Even with a larger family or group, this location works very well.

If you choose to do your photoshoot at Karakter, it’s also a lovely idea to spend the day there. You can enjoy the beach, grab a drink, or stay for a nice dinner after your shoot. It’s one of those special places on the island that offers both a great location for a photoshoot in Curaçao and a wonderful experience overall. A real favorite for couple shoots and family moments.

How busy is it? The little beach on the left side is always very quiet, often even completely empty. However, you might get a few looks because the right side, where the sunbeds and restaurant are, is usually busy. But don’t worry, photoshoots are totally normal in Curaçao, so I wouldn’t let it bother you.

Accessibility and Parking: There is a parking lot nearby. From there, it’s about a 2-minute walk, including a short staircase. If you’re with someone who has difficulty walking, you can also drive partway down and drop them off closer to the location.

However, keep in mind that this area can get quite busy.That means there will likely be other people in the background of your photos. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s still a great option. But for larger groups, I usually don’t recommend this spot — it’s simply too crowded.

Because of the position of the sun, this location works best in the late afternoon when the light is soft and flattering. That’s when the colors of the buildings pop even more and the lighting is just right for beautiful, natural photos.

If you want to add a touch of classic Curaçao to your shoot, the floating bridge and Handelskade make a lovely backdrop. Just come prepared for a bit more activity around you, and I’ll make sure you still get stunning photos in one of the island’s most well-known spots.

The water is an amazing shade of blue and the sand is bright and white. There’s a section of the beach with very few sunbeds, which gives us enough space for a relaxed and natural photoshoot. It’s a truly lovely spot.

That area gives you a different look and usually offers more privacy — especially in the morning, when it’s often completely empty.
